Dr. Stephanie Kubik, BSc, MD, CCFP
“Ever grateful to be entrusted with their care, I am constantly inspired by the resilience, determination, and strength of the women I see. Guiding each of them on their personal journey to wellness is a privilege.”
Dr. Stephanie Kubik was raised in southern Alberta and completed her medical training at the University of Calgary. She has been practicing Family Medicine and teaching medical students and residents since 1992. She began her work at Breast Cancer Supportive Care in 2014 and started facilitating support groups shortly thereafter. She has found supportive cancer care and high-risk surveillance extremely rewarding work and is grateful to be a part of an amazingly skilled medical team. In her spare time, she loves travelling, immersing herself in nature, and spending time with her husband, two children and extended family and friends.

Dr. Carla Montgomery, BSc, MD, CCFP
“Supporting patients and loved ones whose lives have been touched by cancer is deeply meaningful to me. I consider it a genuine privilege to share in their care as they find their way forward, and believe that I gain and learn more than I could ever give or teach in return. Their resilience, courage, vulnerability, and determination sparks healing, hope, and growth, which both humbles and encourages me as I walk alongside for a time, wherever the path may lead.”
Raised in Edmonton, Dr. Montgomery has been a family physician since 1994 (University of Alberta) and has practiced in her home province as well as in BC and Ontario. Cancer survivorship has always been a significant clinical interest, and after returning to Alberta, she joined the BCSC team in 2012. She is grateful to work with such wonderful colleagues and truly amazing patients as this model of survivorship care blends so beautifully both the art and science of medicine, given her belief that a whole person approach leads to optimal wellness and the most authentic healing process overall, whatever the outcome.
When not at work, she enjoys outdoor adventures and home sweet home in equal measure, including tending to various creative pursuits … plus time well spent with family and friends, best of all trying to keep up with her adult children.

Dr. Naomi Rittberg, BSc, MD, CCFP
“My work at this clinic is deeply meaningful. It is a privilege to work with patients and families finding their way forward on their own paths through cancer. I strive to approach each individual with dignity and meet people where they are at.”
Dr. Rittberg started practicing medicine in 2015 and joined the team at Breast Cancer Supportive Care in 2021. She has a special interest in high-risk breast cancer screening, as well as insomnia and facilitates a group at the clinic to help patients learn to improve sleep. Outside of work, she enjoys the great outdoors, cooking, and chasing after her children.

Dr. Carrie Abrahamson, MB ChB, CCFP
"I feel so fortunate to work at BCSC with such wonderful colleagues, staff and inspirational patients which makes my work a rewarding experience. I strive to give my patients the opportunity of time and support that they need and deserve to navigate through one of their most challenging life chapters. My goal is to empower my patients by helping them be well informed about their journey through surveillance, cancer treatment and beyond into survivorship.”
Dr. Carrie Abrahamson did her medical training at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. In 2007, she moved to Lethbridge, Alberta starting work as a family physician until 2014 when she relocated to Calgary. In 2015, she started a small family practice in Calgary which she continues today.
Dr Abrahamson joined the BCSC team in 2019. She sees patients across their breast cancer journey from diagnosis and well into survivorship as well as high-risk patients, helping with them with surveillance and surgical discussions.
When not working, she loves to be outside walking, hiking, skiing, and travelling with her family as well as relaxing with a good book with her cats on her lap.

Dr. Sydney Pearson, MD, CCFP
Dr. Sydney Pearson completed her medical training at the University of Calgary in 2018 and joined the team at Breast Cancer Supportive Care in 2020. Like many families, hers has been touched by breast cancer, and this motivates Dr. Pearson to use her medical expertise to care for and guide her patients on their road to survivorship. She is a strong advocate for women’s health. Dr. Pearson was the founding president of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Youth Advisory Council at the University of Alberta, and the President of the Women’s Health Initiative at the University of Calgary. As a clinical preceptor at the Central Family Medicine Teaching Clinic, she is passionate about training the next generation of physicians. She also practices low risk obstetrics at the Foothills Medical Centre. Outside of work, Dr. Pearson enjoys cooking, traveling and experiencing the world through the eyes of her two daughters.
